Meeting Tomorrow 30th July

Fellow Members and interested locals,

The next meeting of the Melton Sustainable Living Group Inc. will be held on Thursday 30th July from 7-9pm at the Melton Community Hall, Meeting room 4.

We will start off with a short presentation about "Saving money through energy efficiency".

I also would like to spend some time as a group brainstorming/thinking/talking about a project that will benefit  the community and promote Sustainable Living in the shire.  Now that we are a little larger in size, I believe it is time to kick off a project that will help keep us and other like minded people engaged for the longer term.

Also, please feel free to pass this email to anyone who you think would be interested in attending.

Hope to see you all there.

Regards,

Gavin
President

Council Candidates 2020 and their Sustainability Priorities for the City of Melton

Recognising the important role that local governments are playing around the world in tackling our sustainability challenges, we wanted to share the sustainability priorities the City of Melton Councillor candidates. In 2020 we have 37 Melton candidates vying for Councillor positions across our three wards. We invited them to complete our survey, so we can share their positions on this issues with you.  We appreciate the efforts of these locals standing up to represent us, and special thanks to the 17 candidates who have filled out the survey so far (we will update this in the next few days if we get more). We are not endorsing or ranking these candidates - just providing them the opportunity to share their priorities and what sorts of initiatives they will champion if elected. Candidates are listed by ward in the order that they replied to the survey (earliest to latest).   While there are many areas we could focus on, we selected a few priority areas shared by Melt...

Backyard Chickens Workshop 16th April 2011

Yesterday, my friend Jan and I presented a workshop to the Melton Sustainable Living Group members and friends.  The workshop is one of the regular monthly activities the group holds on the 3rd Saturday of each month. I believe that it was informative and I certainly had a good time presenting it.  As requested by one of my readers on The Greening of Gavin , we captured the highlights on video and I placed it on YouTube. I hope you enjoy all the chicken antics and my presentation! Gavin Webber President, MSLG Inc.
